woke up to a nice lady cooking eggs, bacon, and toast. She also cooked us some coffee, I had half a cup from a donkey mug. I called it "half-ass".
We drove to Iowa from St Louis, and on the way stopped at a convenience store. Shit, I really did it. I got some cheese sticks. I know it's gross, but I wanted something salty and warm. I'm not the kind of person who can feel satisfied by nuts or fruit when I'm hungry. So. I ate three, Eli ate one, and Karl ate one. I had a little bit of Karl's stale popcorn. Karl offered me a bite of his cheese filled spicy jerky but I declined. Then I happened to notice (because of my eye for detail) that in a display of 3-packs of donuts, there was one package with only two. A mistake on the part of the donut factory! So I brought it up to the counter and presented it to the clerk, pointing out the defect, and the fact that it was un-sellable. She gave them to me. The first ingredient was sugar. I ate one.
When we got to Rock Island, IO (not even kidding!) for our Daytrotter session, we got some pizza. We ordered it ahead of time from the van. We got two larges, one with four toppings and one with three. As it turns out, we spent $28 in toppings alone! And the cheese was like a 1/2 inch thick, I had to pull so much off. I ate two pieces with fresh spinach on top and then took a nap on a wooden floor in the Daytrotter building.
Just now I finished eating some spaghetti with parmesan, and romaine salad. Thinking about having some of this juice, but generally I don't mix juice with savory foods. It gives me gas.

OMG you guys!
It's been a while since I've had the internet in my life, so I've been writing everything down, analog-style. Now I can digitize my food consumption, finally!
Over the last four or so days, I have eaten/drank the following:
Bread
Cheese
Lots of water with lemon, grapefruit seed extract, and baking soda in it (medicinal)
gluten-free cornflake-breaded chicken strips from the co-op in Pullman, WA.
Green salad
Jalapeno potato chips dipped in plain greek yogurt
pasta salad with cranberries
Half a bagel with tomato and cream cheese
Missoula, MT:
Squash soup
bread
salad
cheese
oatmeal with peanut butter and raisins stirred in
1/2 sandwich of vegan cheese, tomato and hummus at 7 a.m. (for energy while driving)
A chocolate cookie
Cheese soup and crackers
Pineapple juice
one bite of salmon and one corner of bread to counteract the extreme saltiness of the salmon
Salt Lake City, NV:
Breakfast hash
Black tea
Cranberry tea
Green salad with mozzarella, pecans, cranberries, green onion, chicken, peas
Handful of roasted almonds
"Gringas" at the Red Iguana - tortillas folded with marinated pork, pineapple, red and green peppers, and onions
Denver, CO:
Peppermint tea
14 or so skittles
two handfuls of popcorn
two ginger cookies
oatmeal with flax seeds
Lawrence, KS:
Assorted cookie bites throughout the day
instant udon
lamb gyro
4 oz of beer
1/2 a savory scone
Goat cheese, leek and shiitake mushroom omelette with an english muffin and potatoes with 'chup
3/4 cup of ethiopian coffee with a splash of whole milk (first in five days!)
apple
french onion soup with swiss and a large crouton
a piece of bread
chocolate chip cookie
I am currently eating little slices of pizza that was once frozen but is now hot

I can hardly think...
...I vaguely remember the details of my food consumption last night, but I think it was:
1/2 a grape kombucha
2 bites of a cookie
a graham cracker with butter on top. Yes, butter.
This morning:
one fried egg and toast with tomato
a macchiato
something called a "pie hole" which is a very small pie, made locally in Portland. Apple filling.
Tonight:
a hamburger and french fries. Everybody was doing it.
Now I'm drinking mass amounts of lemon water with grapefruit seed extract and baking soda in it, because I have a bladder infection.
Dang it.

Breakfast Wraps
You guys, breakfast wraps are delicious.
Here's what you do: You saute a bunch of veggies and crap, and an egg, and then heat up a tortilla and throw that stuff on it with some salsa and cheese and hot sauce. Voila!
And guess what, that's what I had this morning with Carson and his mom, Gloria.
In the car, Cocoa Rooibos Tea!
Okay, so now we're at Adam's house, he made us an interesting meal of broccoli potato soup with a poached egg, cayenne pepper, salt, olive oil and parmesan on top. Side of baked salmon and kalinga rice.
Now it's van time.
